Refund Policy

We want every user to feel confident choosing Citewise. This policy explains our approach to refunds โ€” written clearly, without ambiguity.

At Citewise, we strive to deliver a research platform that genuinely advances your legal practice. We stand behind the quality of our service. This Refund Policy sets out the circumstances under which refunds may be issued, and the process for requesting one. We aim to be fair, transparent, and prompt in handling every billing concern.
Beta Period โ€” Free Queries
During the beta period, all registered users receive 50 complimentary queries at no charge. Beta queries are non-transferable and expire upon the conclusion of the beta period or upon your upgrade to a paid plan โ€” whichever occurs first. No refund is applicable to complimentary beta credits since no payment was made.
General Subscription Policy
All subscription payments are processed monthly in advance. Fees paid for a billing cycle are generally non-refundable once the cycle has commenced, as you gain immediate access to the full capacity of your plan. We encourage users to thoroughly evaluate the platform using the 50 free beta queries before subscribing to a paid plan.
Eligibility for a Refund
You may be eligible for a full refund of your most recent subscription payment if: (a) you experienced a verified, critical technical failure that prevented you from using the service for more than 48 consecutive hours within the billing cycle; or (b) you were charged twice for the same billing cycle due to a payment system error. Refund requests submitted more than 7 days after the charge date will not be considered.
Non-Refundable Circumstances
Refunds will not be issued for: (a) change of mind after using the service; (b) dissatisfaction with AI-generated responses that do not meet personal expectations; (c) cases where you exceeded your query limit and chose not to upgrade; (d) partial months โ€” we do not pro-rate cancellations mid-cycle; (e) accounts terminated for Terms of Service violations.
How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, use the Contact Us page and select "Billing & Refund" as your reason. Please include your registered email, the approximate date of charge, and a brief explanation of the issue. We will acknowledge your request within 2 business days and resolve eligible cases within 7 business days.
Refund Processing
Approved refunds are processed back to the original payment method via Cashfree Payments. Depending on your bank or card issuer, the credit may take 5โ€“10 business days to appear in your account. We will send you a confirmation email once the refund has been initiated on our end.
Cancellation Policy
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops future billing immediately but does not entitle you to a refund for the current billing cycle โ€” you retain access to all paid features until the end of the period for which you have already paid.
Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be communicated via email and will apply only to purchases made after the effective date of the change. This policy does not limit any statutory rights you may have under applicable Indian consumer protection law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
